Design and Construction Posters and Folios
|
It is assumed that not all competing teams
in the H.P.V. and Hybrid Types need to display any proof of
construction of the vehicle. This means that these teams cannot
be eligible for the Minor Awards of Design and Construction and
Innovation which affects the result of the Overall Award.
These teams are eligible for the following
-
Best Presented Vehicle and Crew
Endurance Award
Fastest Lap Award
Special Awards (awarded at Judges discretion)
If your team's entry needs to be judged the
following information needs to be considered.
Presentation of Folios
All teams being judged are required to
submit design and construction information and assist with some
discussion with the Judges at the event.
The information must be in an A4 folio
format. This may be communicated by using -
- Designs and working drawings with some
evaluations (appraisals).
- Research and information resources
used.
- Construction phases and details of any
appraisals.
- Materials and Construction Systems
used
- Systems of organisation and management
of the project
Sponsors and finance/ School/ Industry/ Community links
Future Directions
Other issues
The presentation of this information may be
computer generated or by manual means.
All competing teams with any engines on
their Hybrid vehicles will have to supply written evidence (with
diagrams if needed) to the Scrutineers that -
- The engine in use, was built by the
manufacturer and to specification.
(i.e. NO MODIFICATIONS).
- If the internal combustion engine is
used, it has a swept volume of up to 30 cc.
- Fuel lines and fittings are compatible
and to manufacturer's standards.
- Proof that the power output of the
engine cannot exceed 1.5 kw of power .
N.B. A compression test will be done at
Scrutineering. After successful scrutineering, engines will be
sealed before and during the 24 hour race.
- This is optional for teams who wish to
advertise and acknowledge the support for their vehicle
and crew, especially the sponsors.
- Teams are asked to present their
information in a simplified display format suitable for
the public exhibition at the event.
- While teams retain ownership of the
material (and can be assured of its return), event
organisers expect to be able to retain display material
for exhibitions after the event.
- Display material will be for public
interest re construction of vehicle.
A high visual impact, with a vertical format, is
encouraged.
Information used may be taken from Specification 5.2, but
simplified.
