Competition Prizes and Judging
|
- Vehicle Judging occurs on the Saturday
morning of the event.
- Teams are under no compulsion to
submit themselves to be judged for design/ construction,
innovation, or best presented awards, but must understand
that if they are eligible to be judged, and choose not to
be judged, they may adversely affect their points score
for the overall awards.
- Design/ construction folios and
posters etc. will be considered during judging.
- Final decisions on awards will be
taken by the Chief Judge, in consultation with the Event
Organising Committee.
- The Chief Judge reserves the right to
withhold any award.
With thanks to our sponsors -
- Minor Awards are given for
each Age Category
(1) Design and Construction.
(2) Innovation.
(3) Best presented vehicle and crew.
(4) Endurance (best distance covered in 24 hours).
(5) Fastest Lap
(6) Judges Special/ Encouragement Award ( Optional)
- A Major Award is given for each Age
Category called the Overall Award for H.P.V. and Hybrid
Vehicles.
The result is arrived at by comparing the teams'
scores in the first four Minor Awards, scaling and
totalling them with the following weightings.
(1) Design and Construction Award 20%
(2) Innovation Award 20%
(3) Best presented vehicle and crew Award 10%
(4) Endurance Award 50%
- N.B. For Hybrids, the chief judge may
not award an Overall Award for each category, depending
on the number of hybrid entries in that category.
AND ALSO
- The winner of the 24 hour race
(Endurance Award), would not necessarily win the Overall
Award, unless the team also scored well in the judging
for other awards.
Re-entered vehicles may only be judged for
Best Presented Vehicle Awards, Endurance Awards, Fastest Lap
Awards ONLY.
(Class A Vehicles and Category 1
